Well, about an hour and 20 minutes actually!

Whirlpool Express (UK) manufacture whirlpool baths in the UK and have shower cabins made to their specification in two Italian factories. Manufacturing in China has never been an option for Whirlpool Express as we require products to be manufactured to a high standard due to our guarantee of at LEAST 3 years on all shower products. Chinese samples received to date by Whirlpool Express and other companies have not proved themselves in longevity tests and should electronics fail it is a long way to go to get them repaired!

Whirlpool Express' Italian factories are geared up to incorporate the latest design, technology and innovation into the shower cubicles. One of the major innovations introduced by Whirlpool Express is their range of silicone free shower cabins. The elimination of Silicone means that there is no unsightly yellowing in years to come and also speeds up installation time considerably - installation of a multifunction shower with body jets is usually achieved in well under two hours.

So what is a shower cabin and how is it different to a shower cubicle? Have you ever had a shower upstairs that has persistently leaked through the ceiling of the room below? Well, you are not alone! This a a problem suffered by many owners of shower cubicles - what happens is that the installation of an ordinary shower cubicle involves sticking tiles to the wall inside the shower area, over time the grout between the tiles deteriorates and pinholes develope. Water gets drawn through these pinholes and runs down behind the tiles, past the shower tray and straight into the ceiling below. Once this starts to happen it is very difficult to repair satisfactorily as the action of the water behind the tiles causes further deterioration. Whirlpool Express shower cabins provide a longterm solution. They comprise a shower tray and and doors much the same as an ordinary shower cubicle, but instead of tiling the walls, the cabin has acrylic side panels. Quite simply the shower cabin is assembled as a complete unit inside the bathroom, water tested and then moved into place and secred to the wall. The shower tray incorporates a lip around the edge so that any condensation from behind the shower panels is captured in the shower tray from where it will drain away through a special channel into the shower waste. The panels are fixed into place using "U" shaped channels on the rear of the cabin - this simple design innovation eliminates the need for siliconing between the panels as any water which does pass through the panel reaches the aluminium channel and the water is taken down to the shower tray and away through the waste....

Other advantages of choosing one of Whirlpool Express's range of shower cabins is that most of them can easily be converted into an economical steam shower... the cabin being made of acrylic warms up very quickly, and the whole unit reaches temperature very economically using a low power steam generator.

Whirlpool Express originally developed their whirlpool systems with a range of add-on features that could be chosen by the customer at the time of ordering. They have followed this principle across into their showering range. All the shower cabins incorporate a seat which older people find a tremendous benefit as it enables them wash sitting down if required. Most of the range is supplied with 6 bodyjets as standard, together with add ons such as Steam and chromotherapy lighting which has recently proved tremendously popular in Europe with its revitalising and relaxing properties. And lastly, not forgetting a waterproof radio for inside the shower, apart from being ideal for listening to the local news as you shower in the morning it is an absolute must for when you are enjoying a detoxifying steam shower!

A further design feature enables these showers to work on most pressurised water system including those homes using a combination boiler. (If you have a coldwater tank in the attic you will need a pump)

Other recent introductions into the showering range are two shower columns. These are easily installed into an existing shower cubicle to replace an old shower valve which no longer works or where a shower is needed above the path rather than providing a basic shower, these shower columns incorporate overhead shower, hand held shower on a hose and for that final touch of luxury, bodyjets!

Shower columns are priced between £175.00 and £250.00. Shower cabins are priced from only £400.00 and shower cabins with steam start at £999.00. All are available ex-stock from our warehouse in Newport.
