Installation

Sanivite is a powerful pump which will evacuate waste from a
sink, dishwasher and washing machine. It works automatically. Do
not use with a waste disposal unit.
| |
1. Connecting a side entry
waste water inlet

Cap off any unused inlets. Grease joint, push in cap,
give a quarter turn. Connect flexible sleeve to the chosen
inlet and secure with a herbie clip (size
G). |
2. Connecting a top waste
water entry

Cut off sealed cap with hacksaw. Remove rough edges.
Connect flexible sleeve to chosen inlet and secure with a
steel jubilee clip. |
3. Evacuation of water from
a bath.

If fitting bath/shower to the unit, ensure the plug hole
is at least 18cm above the base level of the Sanivite. An
air vent pipe (shown as dotted line), though not normally
required, may be run to an outside
wall. |
4. Installation of evacuation
pipe and ventilation pipe
Attach the rubber discharge elbow to the outlet pipe and
secure with steel jubilee clip. Ensure the flap opens in the
same direction as the discharge elbow. (Do not use a
straight connector:
A). |
Pipework
Is push-fit uPVC pipework recommended?
No. You should
not use push-fit uPVC pipework. This is not designed for use under
pressure, and the results of a joint separating are obvious!
Can flexible pipework be used?
Flexible discharge
pipework is not recommended as residual water could build up in the
dips and cause blockages. You should use either copper or rigid uPVC
solvent weld pipework.
What type of bends - smooth radius/90 degrees
etc?.
Smooth bends are better than elbows, because this will
prevent possible blockages in the pipework.
Can the discharge pipe travel both vertically and run
horizontally on the same run - if so, how far?
Yes. Sanivite
discharges up to 5m vertically. However, when using a combination of
vertical lift and horizontal run, allow for a reduction of 10m
horizontal run for every metre of vertical lift (ie lm vertical then
40m horizontal, or two metres vertical then 30 metres horizontal and
so on).
Sanivite is designed to pump directly upwards to a distance of
5m. However, a 45 degree slant along, say, the eaves of a loft is
possible, provided the length of diagonal pipe does not exceed 5m
(i.e. you cannot have a 10m length of diagonal pipe, even if the
height is within 5m vertical).
In accordance with plumbing regulations, there should be a
separate piperun from the Sanivite to the stack.
You should not plumb a whirlpool bath which has a pumped waste
into a Sanivite. Whirlpool baths with gravity operating waste
however, will operate normally.
